Unfortunately we lost a day due to food poisoning, but we still had plenty of time to walk around the city, explore the Alhambra Palace and its beautiful gardens, and attend mass at the cathedral.
The Alhambra was originally a small fortress built in 889 during the Moorish occupation of Spain. It was later renovated and turned into a royal palace in 1333 by the Sultan of Granada.
The Moorish architecture was exquisite, and the gardens were in full bloom.
Above is the entrance to the Cathedral of Granada. Sadly, no photos were permitted inside.
