Mount Huma and Alhama de Granada

In December we went back to El Chorro to climb Mount Huma. We did part of this hike last year, but we wanted to go back to get to the top!

As we got higher up the mountain we were climbing in the clouds.

We took shelter from the wind behind some rocks and took a little break.

Here we are at the top!

El Chorro is surrounded by three lakes used for hydroelectric. From the peak you can see a water reservoir. Excess wind energy is used to pump water up to the reservoir which can then be used to for hydroelectric when needed.

We took a break at this cool spot, and hung out until the clouds started rolling in again.

That night we camped by the lake in El Chorro, and the next morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise.

On the way home we stopped in Alhama de Granada to take a soak in the hot springs.
