Kloeppel's in Spain: Ronda and Setenil

We took a trip to Ronda and Setenil for my birthday to show my parents where we spent the last year.

Pedro Romero is a famous bull fighter from Ronda. Since my mom's maiden name is Romero, it's exciting to see his name all over.

We went into the Church of Espiritu Santo (the Holy Spirit) in Ronda.

And we went up the church tower which gives good views of the city walls.

We ate breakfast at a really cool restaurant that overlooks the gorges.

And here we are in Setenil.

Kloeppel's in Spain: Granada

In September we moved to Granada, and a few days later my parents came to visit!

We walked around the Albaicin, the old part of the city that has the traditional white houses, winding streets, and beautiful views.

We stopped in Plaza Larga for some tapas.

The church across the street from our apartment, Nuestra Señora de las Angustias (Our Lady of Sorrows) was celebrating the feast of Our Lady. People lined up around the block to bring flowers. The bouquets were added to two huge flower walls on either side of the entrance to the church.

We saw more flowers in the gardens of the Alhambra palace.

We enjoyed the gardens in the afternoon, and went back for the night tour of the Nasarid Palace.

The walls are decorated with intricate carvings of Arabic poetry.

We also spent an evening in Sacromonte, the Gitano (gypsy) quarter, where we watched a Flamenco show inside a cave.
